I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-Hx9v camera, which allows for 1920x1080 (60p) video, at it's highest quality option (AVCHD 28M).
Such a small still picture camera that shoots an amazing quality video - WOW!!, right? Well, No!!, because I cannot play back the video, in a smooth manner, on any of the equipment that I currently have.
I do not want to EDIT my videos, nor do I want to burn them onto a DVD or a BluRay discs. I simply want to watch them, either via a computer or via a multimedia player. I am willing to BUILD a brand new computer, connect it to my HD TV and watch it that way. However, I need to know how powerful of a computer I need, as well as what player can handle these files?? (i.e processor speed, motherboard, RAM, video card; PowerDVD, Nero Showtime, etc.)
If anyone can help, that will be greatly appreciated

Thank You TreeTops
- No need for my current computer's settings, as it is an outdated machine that is going to computer heaven
- I am getting ready to build a new computer, and therefore can put anything in it that I would need to play back these files. I can buy an Intel i5 or i7 processor, can put in up to 32 GB worth of RAM into it, etc. What I need now is for someone to tell me what exactly I need??
- Also, I read somewhere that besides a powerful machine, one needs a specific player that can play these files without skipping. So, I am also looking for an advise with regard to a player that can handle my videos.
- And yes, you are right, I could shoot my videos at 17 Mbps, but that will not help with all the video that I have already shot.
- Thanks again for your help
