    Here's the truth about unlocking.

MOST BluRay players sold in the world CANNOT be unlocked. EVER. Among the few that can be unlocked, very very few are sold in North America. It's known for some models that only the ones sold in a specific region, such as Australia, can be unlocked.

If you can't find any mention of an unlock code, then one probably doesn't exist for your player. This seems to be the case for your player (I checked).

Unlocking will only allow region free DVD playback. You can count on one hand the number of models that can be unlocked for BluRay playback too.

Sony and Samsung make the most difficult to unlock models in the world and have for years. Just FYI for the future.

Sometimes unlock codes don't work any more because the manufacturer has made hardware and/or firmware changes that break unlocking. Sometimes Hollywood finds out that they are selling a player that can be unlocked and forces them to release firmware updates that break this. Sometimes you can find old firmware you can downgrade to in order to restore unlocking.

  3. Thanks for info. I suspected that was the case. I only want to unlock for UK DVDs, not for Blu Ray, but i doubt this can be done either?

Maybe I provided more information than you really wanted. However, I did also say...

That covers your requirement for region 2 DVD playback. Sorry.
