i have a video file and i also have a subtitle file .srt with it. the timing is a little off for the subtitles and i need to add 1 second to the beginning of the movie to correct the timing so i dont have to correct every single time spot in the srt file. this would be the easiest way to correct it i think.

Use a subtitle software like Subtitle edit to add one second to the entire srt, open the srt, under Synchronization->Adjust all times(), change to 1 second, click show later and last save as a new srt.
