Information on the WinTV-HVR-2250-TV-Tuner can be found here:

I'm trying to record Xbox gameplay using the capture card in my computer. I'm not too sure if it's even possible, but it should be. If it is, what exactly would I need to do this?
My xbox setup is a HDMI to DVI cable that connects my xbox to a computer monitor, and for audio I also connected an A/V cable and plugged the red/white jacks into a converter to 3.5mm that connects to my headset. (I know it's not your average console setup, but it works!)

The computer that I want to connect everything to is 50 feet away (which shouldn't matter). In my experience, the A/V feature of this capture card doesn't function right, and it's a common difficulty according to the internet community. Although I'd be willing to try the A/V feature, I'd rather go with another option if there is one.

I'll only settle for HD video, and I know that the card supports it. I record television to my computer in HD. So my question is: What do I need for this? What converters, cables, etc. do I need to purchase to capture xbox footage on the Hauppauge HVR 2250?
    Thanks.

I happen to have an HVR-2250. The only high-definition recording possible with the HVR-2250 is capturing HDTV broadcasts using its ATSC/QAM tuner. Those are recorded as-is from the broadcast transport stream. If you want to capture game play, it has to be done with the HVR-2250's A/V inputs, which are standard definition only. If you need an HD capture device, you will have to look for something else.
