    In the link it says that the duration of the audio equals the number of samples/sample rate

    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/350864-Demux-audio-from-ntsc-video-and-mux-with-pal...=1#post2200012

    I can't relate that to the numbers in the image below.
    It says that the number of samples is 1019391.
    Dividing 1019391 by 48000 = 21.2, not 63.71 or am I misinterpreting what VirtualDub is reporting.

    Apparently, the meaning of "samples" in the length field has nothing to do with the playback frequency.

  3. It's off by a factor of 3 for some reason. A factor of 2 I could understand since it's stereo. But 3? Must be a bug. I've confirmed that VirtualDub 1.9.11 has that problem with MP3 audio. With stereo PCM it's reporting the right number.

  4. hmm - It's off by different factors on different video/audio samples even on different types of audio (AC3 was misreported as well) . Avisynth's info() seems to report it correctly

    The duration is correct - so I'm not sure if it really is that relevant or important, it's just misreporting the number of audio samples.

    I wouldn't have the temerity.

    I don't see the information in mediainfo, gspot, audacity.
    Is it displayed in any other prog?

    avisynth's info()

    also mediainfo does report it in advanced mode (debug=>advanced mode) , but I don't think it's precise (still better than what vdub is reporting)

    Thank you.
    AviSynth reports it correctly; MediaInfo's result is the same as opening it directly in VirtualDub.

    Hmm maybe I'm using a different mediainfo version? It reports about the same as avisynth's info() for me on a few test samples (sometimes it's off a bit, but not as much as vdub)

    Sorry, that was a slip of the keyboard.
    MediaInfo agrees with Avisynth's result.
