Hello. Recently we got a new hd television along with a new surround sound unit. I used a hdmi cable to travel from the blu-ray player to the surround sound system to the television. We tried playing some movies to test it out, but when I tried out The Star Wars movies, there were some problems with the picture quality. Particularly when there is supposed to be solid white (The blu-ray notice in the beginning, the FBI warning, the sunrise in the beginning of ROTS, The starfighter engines, etc.) it is black instead. But when i try other movies, it doesn't seem to have that problem. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Thanks!

I would try and do a firmware update. It sounds that this might be the issue. If Star Wars is the only one that it happens to then try either updating the firmware or If the firmware is already updated to the latest then I would contact the manufacturer of the Blu Ray Player. Does any other parts of the Star Wars films have any issues during playback?

It could be that the discs could be defective. Try updating the firmware first and see if this corrects the issues. If it doesn't then I would call the manufacturer of the discs to see if anyone else is having the same problems like you are having.

  6. Try the easy stuff first. Like toggling the color settings in your standalone player. Also check all your connections, and try another HDMI input.

I think that the Blu Ray Player may be defective. I would if you can try connecting this player to another TV that has HDMI inputs and see what happens. If you get the same results then you will know that the player is bad.

Then in this case I would say that you need to call the manufacturer of the discs and see If any one else has playback issues with Star Wars.

I'll say they're weird, I can't even back them up without forced subtitles.
