I took a video clip with my cellphone and transferred to my pc, on my pc the video is showing sideways when I open it in any software. The video clip properties shows as:

Type of file 3GPP, Media file [.3gp]

How can I get this clip to show the proper way please?

Open it in an editor/processor and rotate the video, then export to a new copy (using similar or better encoding settings). Yes, it's one generation down - not much else you can do. AFAIK, there is no "lossless rotate" feature like I've seen for JPEGs (where it re-tags the metadata).

Thanks, can you recommend any "free" editor I can try this with since it's a one time deal please?

  4. Try Windows Movie Maker but your computer is a little behind the times for video editing. It might work anyway depending on how much room you have remaining on that 40 Gig drive.

I will try WMM as you've suggested when I get the chance and get back here. My pc is a very fast Intel duo core with large HDD so that should not be an issue.

Maybe, but TreeTops was basing that upon the system listed in your Computer Details.

WMM says it "it cannot open this type of file", any other free editor or one with a trial version I can download online to fix this issue please?

Thanks but 2 immediate problems, when I click on the VIDEO tab I am only seeing 2 options: Swap U and V and Show Motion vectors? Next, when I rotate in the Video Filter Manager window, the preview show the correct viewing for the video but when I close that window, in the software's main window the view does not change?
