  1. I am using DVD Slideshow GUI 0.9.5.3 with Windows XP. Althought several help videos show the ability to export to gfd that selection is missing from the Export menu.

I've downloaded the program again (filesize was the same) and re-installed to no avail.

    Is there a work around?

Is there a bugfix in process?

  2. Gfd export is only possible in DVD resolutions, meaning 720x576 or 720x480 (4:3 or 16:9). Change your resolution in Project Settings.

  3. tin2tin,

Thank you, the gfd selection certainly does appear in the 2 PAL or 2 NTSC modes. I have a feeling I was told this while scouring the DVD Slideshow and DVDauthor documentation, but it didn't sink in.

I started using the higher resolution modes in DVD Slideshow because I noticed I could use DVD Flick to burn to a standard 4.7 GB disk and produce a noticably better looking picture on an HDTV screen. I am merely building a slideshow from jpg photos, but I prefer the crisper looking picture with higher resolution. This does demand more CPU power, and it is more difficult to reivew the results for any transition and animation changes.

Conversely, DVD Slideshow and some other programs permit only low resolution, unless Blu-Ray is selected, for the DVD burning process.

I have a great deal to learn.

  4. Yes, authored dvd's are only 720x576 or 720x480 (4:3 or 16:9), unless you author a Blu-Ray rom on a dvd disk(this can also be done with DSG), but afaik they will only play on some Blu-Ray players.
