Hey guys, trying to use livestreamer to download from RTE Player but it seems to have stopped working. I'm getting the following error:
livestreamer "hds://cdn.rasset.ie/hds-vod/2016/0604/20160604_webexclusi-whenalimet_cl10581524_10581525_260_drm_/manifest.f4m" best -o RTE.flv
[cli][info] Found matching plugin stream for URL hds://cdn.rasset.ie/hds-vod/2016/0604/20160604_webexclusi-whenalimet_cl10581524_10581525_260_drm_/manifest.f4m
error: Unable to open URL: http://cdn.rasset.ie/hds-vod/2016/0604/20160604_webexclusi-whenalimet_cl10581524_10581..._/manifest.f4m (404 Client Error: Not Found)
Any ideas? -
RTE now needs to replace the hds://cdn.rasset.ie part with hds://eir.rasset.ie - eir instead of cdn
Link would be
livestreamer "hds://eir.rasset.ie/hds-vod/2016/0604/20160604_webexclusi-whenalimet_cl10581524_10581525_260_drm_/manifest.f4m" best -o RTE.flv
But this does not seem available now now. They are usually only available for something like 28 days. Sent PMLast edited by Anonymous; 9th Oct 2016 at 13:27.

I am looking to download this http://www.rte.ie/player/us/show/the-late-late-show-68/10657674/ with LiveStreamer. I have been reading through this thread for about an hour or so, and it has so many turns, I am having trouble finding the piece that tells you how to get the correct "hds://eir.rasset.ie/hds-vod" link out of it. If anyone could point me in the right direction for building the correct URL, my Irish wife in America would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks! -
use adblock plus addon for firefox -> click ABP icon -> open blockable items and search for f4m
-
Are you playing the video first? I didn't find that link anywhere. I have adblock plus enabled (blocking ads), and when I click to watch the video, it says ad blocker is being used, and won't play.

That's weird...I guess I will have to play around with that part later. Thanks for the quick response with that link! That buys me some time to play around! Much appreciated!

Hey guys.
Sorry to dig up this thread but I'm hoping some of you might be able to help.
I'm trying to download a video from the RTE archive site. I have youtube-dl and I have used chrome dev tools to get what I think is the correct URL.
Here's the original URL. http://www.rte.ie/archives/2016/0518/789174-old-town/
Here's the one I got from inspecting the elements. rtmpe://fmsod.rte.ie/rtevod/mp4:/2016/0518/20160518_webexclusi-phillynott_cl10574605_10574606_260_/20160518_webexclusi-phillynott_cl10574605_10574606_260__512k.mp4.
I ran the command, youtube-dl "rtmpe://fmsod.rte.ie/rtevod/mp4:/2016/0518/20160518_webexclusi-phillynott_cl10574605_10574606_260_/20160518_webexclusi-phillynott_cl10574605_10574606_260__512k.mp4"
but that only downloaded a blank .flv file.
Can anyone direct me to what I might be doing wrong, or indeed if anyone knows of a simpler method to download from the RTE archive site.
Thanks a lot. -
Here is the M3U8 for your video:
Code:https://cdn.rasset.ie/manifest/2016/0518/20160518_webexclusi-phillynott_cl10574605_10574606_260_/manifest.m3u8

Hi, Thanks a lot for that.
Can you tell me how you get that link? Am I right in thinking that I need to grab the link in the developer console in Chrome (or whatever browser)? -

Hi ,
