RTE RTMPE Ripping (How to rip of RTE player)

Thought i would come on to this forum to share my knowledge of how to get programmes of rte player

so waiting on the first question


Post in this thread if you want a code for a certain programme,or if you need any help in doing so

e.g here is the code for

FAI Ford Cup Final (St Patrick's Athletic v Derry City) Sun 04 Nov 2012

rtmpdump -r "rtmpe://fmsod.rte.ie:1935/rtevod" -a "rtevod" -W

essential tools you may need

Download URLSnooper_v2.04.01 from below

Unrar and install : URLSnooper_v2.04.01

Download rtmpdump-2.4

run rte player and play the programme you want to download (do not open url snooper yet wait until adds are gone)

so let's say i want to download this of the rte player

http://www.rte.ie/player/ie/show/10071080/

ok so now adds are gone open url snooper,make sure this is under keyword filter (swf;hds) press (sniff network)

when a few lines appear press stop search and pause the rte player,

you will see below



ok so now you have

these 2 lines

You do not need in red

then you get this

now we are going to put this together using the first code which is this,just simple take out in red and add replace with the 2 blue below lines,rename the end of it like short instead of FAI

open notepad insert above code into it,save as/short.bat (add the extension .bat when saving into the folder where your rtmpdump is stored in all files,it will be a .bat file

double click it and a command prompt will open and start downloading

Works like a charm, any Idea who to grab the 1024k stream?

I've been playing around with file names but its just not happening.

Possibly on a different port number or a different folder set.

Any Ideas yourself?

nope haven't configured that one yet,but don't think it's possible at the moment

Cheers for getting back to me, I've been playing around with it but no joy, You would think just changing the 512k.mp4 to 1024k.mp4 would do the trick (providing the files are in the same folder)

I'll keep you posted if I get it and if you wouldn't mind giving me a shout if you manage to sort it.

Dunno what you were doing but here is the line you should have copied out of URL Snooper

Take out the red

put it together within the red below and always use the same swf in blue

Cheers. I think the problem was 1024k file the 512k worked for another file taken from a different forum.

did you save just as a notepad .bat file or did you save it in all files as a .bat file,could you post a screen shot please,also please note on some internet providers in ireland this does not work,what internet provider have you got???

when downloaded drop the zip into a folder then extract in folder,you will see another folder ''rtmpexplorer'' go into it,double click on the ''rtmpExplorer applicant'' you will see 2 windows,1 black 1 white,enter the url ''http://www.rte.ie/playerxl/#v=10103669'' into the white one then press Go

Click on the play and wait for the adds to go and your programme will start to download into the same folder as ''rtmpExplorer'' is
