  1. Thought i would come on to this forum to share my knowledge of how to get programmes of rte player

so waiting on the first question

Post in this thread if you want a code for a certain programme,or if you need any help in doing so

e.g here is the code for

FAI Ford Cup Final (St Patrick's Athletic v Derry City) Sun 04 Nov 2012

    Code:
    rtmpdump -r "rtmpe://fmsod.rte.ie:1935/rtevod" -a "rtevod" -W

    "http://www.rte.ie/static/player/swf/osmf2_2012_10_19.swf" -y

    "mp4:/2012/1104/20121104_rtetwo-faifordcup_cl10070749_10070873_260_/20121104_

    rtetwo-faifordcup_cl10070749_10070873_260__512k.mp4" -o "FAI.flv"

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    essential tools you may need

    Download URLSnooper_v2.04.01 from below

    http://webpages.charter.net/veblin/URLSnooper_v2.04.01.zip

    Unrar and install : URLSnooper_v2.04.01

    Download rtmpdump-2.4

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools/RTMPDump with the (direct link)

run rte player and play the programme you want to download (do not open url snooper yet wait until adds are gone)

so let's say i want to download this of the rte player

    http://www.rte.ie/player/ie/show/10071080/

ok so now adds are gone open url snooper, make sure this is under keyword filter (swf;hds) press (sniff network)

when a few lines appear press stop search and pause the rte player,

    you will see below

    ok so now you have

    these 2 lines

    Code:
    http://www.rte.ie/static/player/swf/osmf2_2012_10_19.swf
    Code:
    http://vod.hds.rasset.ie/hds-vod/2012/1105/adaptive/20121105_rtetwo-shortscree_cl10071080_10071081_260_/20121105_rtetwo-shortscree_cl10071080_10071081_260__512k.mp4Seg1-Frag18
You do not need in red

    http://vod.hds.rasset.ie/hds-vod/2012/1105/adaptive/20121105_rtetwo-shortscree_cl10071080_10071081_260_/20121105_rtetwo-shortscree_cl10071080_10071081_260__512k.mp4Seg1-Frag18

    then you get this

    2012/1105/20121105_rtetwo-shortscree_cl10071080_10071081_260_/20121105_rtetwo-shortscree_cl10071080_10071081_260__512k.mp4

now we are going to put this together using the first code which is this, just simple take out in red and add replace with the 2 blue below lines, rename the end of it like short instead of FAI

    http://www.rte.ie/static/player/swf/osmf2_2012_10_19.swf

    2012/1105/20121105_rtetwo-shortscree_cl10071080_10071081_260_/20121105_rtetwo-shortscree_cl10071080_10071081_260__512k.mp4

    rtmpdump -r "rtmpe://fmsod.rte.ie:1935/rtevod" -a "rtevod" -W

    "http://www.rte.ie/static/player/swf/osmf2_2012_10_19.swf" -y

    "mp4:/2012/1104/20121104_rtetwo-faifordcup_cl10070749_10070873_260_/20121104_

    rtetwo-faifordcup_cl10070749_10070873_260__512k.mp4
    " -o "FAI.flv"

    so you get this

    Code:
    rtmpdump -r "rtmpe://fmsod.rte.ie:1935/rtevod" -a "rtevod" -W

    "http://www.rte.ie/static/player/swf/osmf2_2012_10_19.swf" -y

    "mp4:/2012/1105/20121105_rtetwo-shortscree_cl10071080_10071081_260_/20121105_rtetwo-shortscree_cl10071080_10071081_260__512k.mp4" -o "short.flv"
open notepad insert above code into it,save as/short.bat (add the extension .bat when saving into the folder where your rtmpdump is stored in all files,it will be a .bat file

double click it and a command prompt will open and start downloading

any questions do not hesitate to post

Works like a charm, any Idea who to grab the 1024k stream?

I've been playing around with file names but its just not happening.

Possibly on a different port number or a different folder set.

    Any Ideas yourself?

    Cheers

Cheers for getting back to me, I've been playing around with it but no joy, You would think just changing the 512k.mp4 to 1024k.mp4 would do the trick (providing the files are in the same folder)

I'll keep you posted if I get it and if you wouldn't mind giving me a shout if you manage to sort it.

    Cheers

It's not available on the RTMPE server, you can't have what isn't there. Which I believe I already told you.

  9. Dunno what you were doing but here is the line you should have copied out of URL Snooper

    Take out the red

    Code:
    http://vod.hds.rasset.ie/hds-vod/2012/1111/adaptive/20121111_rteone-lovehate_cl10085600_10085601_260_/20121111_rteone-lovehate_cl10085600_10085601_260__512k.mp4Seg1-Frag11
so you are left with this

    Code:
    2012/1111/20121111_rteone-lovehate_cl10085600_10085601_260_/20121111_rteon

    e-lovehate_cl10085600_10085601_260__512k.mp4
put it together within the red below and always use the same swf in blue

    Code:
    rtmpdump -r "rtmpe://fmsod.rte.ie:1935/rtevod" -a "rtevod" -W

    "http://www.rte.ie/static/player/swf/osmf2_2012_10_19.swf" -y

    "mp4:/2012/1111/20121111_rteone-lovehate_cl10085600_10085601_260_/20121111_rteon

    rtmpdump -r "rtmpe://fmsod.rte.ie:1935/rtevod" -a "rtevod" -W "http://www.rte.ie/static/player/swf/osmf2_2012_10_19.swf" -y "mp4:/2012/0204/20120204_tv50mistso_1137921_368022_260_/20120204_tv50mistso_1137921_368022_260__512k.mp4" -o "MistsOfMaam.flv"

    Hi,
I've been trying to rip videos from the RTE player for ages with no joy. RTMPdump and RTMPexplorer aren't working for RTE but work for TV3/TG4. For RTE both programs keep crashing or saying command ignored. The current file I'm looking for is http://www.rte.ie/player/ie/show/10093130/. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    rteone-tv50therad_cl10093130_10093134_260__512k.mp4" -o "blahblah.flv"

  19. first off use the xl player

    http://www.rte.ie/playerxl/#v=10104177

    then go here

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools/RTMPExplorer/old-versions#download

hit on this ''Download (direct link)'' on the right

when downloaded drop the zip into a folder then extract in folder, you will see another folder ''rtmpexplorer'' go into it,double click on the ''rtmpExplorer applicant'' you will see 2 windows,1 black 1 white, enter the url ''http://www.rte.ie/playerxl/#v=10103669'' into the white one then press Go

Click on the play and wait for the adds to go and your programme will start to download into the same folder as ''rtmpExplorer'' is

    hope that helps

I'm trying to download the following - http://www.rte.ie/player/ie/show/10153722/ - but have had no joy so far.

I downloaded and ran URL Snooper but since it didn't detect the stream when I played it I assume there's a lot of configuration that I haven't done.
