  2. Was it working before and then it stopped? First thing to try, uninstall the ATI program and re-install it. If you see an option to repair when you go to uninstall, do that instead.

i've done this already , with the ati uninstaller ... and did this multiples times

uninstalled with uninstaller and registry cleaned with Ccleaner.. and did a virus/spyware check

i use it (MMC) maybe one time a week .. i think i did a windows update that included something for the radeon 9800 series ati card but i can't isolate that update so i don't know

  4. It could well be due to a dotNet update. Were you using the driver from the CD? Get the last Catalyst suit (10.2) from AMD, reboot in safe mode, uninstall the current ATI software, open device manager and remove the display adapter. Reboot normally and install the new Catalyst.

Never download ATI drivers from Windows Update. They'll trip you up every time. All it took was one update a couple years ago to screw up WDM and ODBC registry entries for my 9600XT, which were newer versions than those that come with ATI. I ended up reinstalling Windows to get functionality back. I haven't used MMC for several years now, but 'way back then it was a huge headache. If you need updated drivers for hardware/audio/video/chipset etc., get them from OEM or the product websites, never Microsoft.

i won't reinstall windows in the near futur .. but if i could find a free pvr with schedulling capabilities ... that could capture maybe DV or smaller , it's just to record TV shows while i'm at work .. i sometimes record for 2h and more so loseless is not an option and i want to keep everything in sync

Should i start a new thread about that ??

I tried lots of them and nothing seems to work..

MMC was good in its day. I have hundreds of hours on DVD as example. But something like the Hauppauge PVR would be better, tho it doesn't have time shifting.

i ended up using Virtualdub-dvr for the schedulling capabilities
with a dv codec no drop frames but big file , think i'll down the resolution to 320x240

maybe another codec ( smaller file) would be better ??
