    It's still overpriced.

    Competing cameras are now close enough in quality that the price isn't justified. I could buy a really nice Canon setup for less than the Scarlet-X brain by itself. RED honestly screwed up and missed their opportunity with mass audience. It took too long, and cost too much. Most of us have already moved on. The appeal of RED has worn off.

    I'd much sooner spend $15k on a rig from Canon, Sony or Panasonic.

    Lordsmurf is correct. When the development of RED Scarlet was first announced, they promised it at $5k.
