    Hey guys,

I have a video file straight off my Canon vixia HF M31. It's an MTS file. I need to convert it to FLV for it to play on my website using flowplayer. No matter what I do, I cannot convert it preserving the original quality. I'm using Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate. The loss in quality is quite conspicuous. Do you guys have any suggestions as to preserving the quality of the video? Or is it just the way of things?

    Thank you.

Convert to flv or mp4 with h264 video instead. Use for example vidcoder or handbrake. Use mp4 as container and avc/h264 as video codec and aac as audio. It works in flowplayer/flash players.

When I use mp4, for some strange reason flowplayer waits for the whole file to be downloaded by the browser before it starts playing it. On the other hand it plays FLVs right away as the rest of the video is buffering.

Notice: the suggested softwares can't handle the progressive segmented frame videos.

I've used Lillipot www.qtbridge.com/lillipot/ to add flashstart to mp4 and mov files and works nice.
