    Hello

I had vegas pro 11 and a GTX 560 Ti FTW edition and it went bad. So I just purchased an EVGA GTX 660 Ti FTW edition and installed it, updated the latest drivers, got into vegas did my video. I went to render i selected render using GPU and it says Cuda is available. I hit render and i get the error that says it cannot be done and the reason is unknown. This is an issue which is solved if you render using CPU only

I want to render using my GPU. does anyone have an idea why its not working, or a fix for me?

Windows 7 64bit using Vegas Pro 11 32bit running as Admin
    i7 processor
    16 gigs ram
    SSD
    GTX 660 Ti FTW

  2. Look at the bottom part of Post #19 in the thread above yours. Could that be your problem?

"the problem i have with any type of gpu use is that there are lots of things that can't be rendered with the gpu in vegas. almost all resizing and multiple effects will crash gpu encoding. i've given up and only use the cpu unless there are absolutely no effects/re-sizing."

    I haven't experienced that.

Why don't you switch to 64 bit Vegas?

the quote above is mine and is from using 64bit vegas pro12 so it doesn't make any difference using 32 or 64 bit.

OP is using Pro11. Me too.

Me smell something. I don't know why someone would use 32 bit Vegas on a 64 bit machine. Ope, wait a minute, is that another bootleg?

No actually I had the 64 bit version but I was having problems with it freezing up. I read that it doesnt play nice with some video FX so I switched to the 32 bit version..

Anyways thanks for the reply. Not sure what the deal is it worked just fine with my 560 ti rendering via GPU but in this one its instant fail.

Your GTX560 would of been pci e 2. Your gtx 660 will be pci e 3.It takes awhile for everyone to get there software to work properly,Nvidia included.Cuda is very good when it works.Having the newest isn't always the best.

I say trying to update the driver causes these issues. Roll back to the slow-but-stable one.

if you want to update to pro 12 or any future release of vegas pro they are all 64bit from 12 on. you might as well start getting used to it now. try the rendering with cpu only and see if it works.

Updating your software is often the only choice. When it comes to Tech like CUDA its a combination of software and hardware both keeping up.
