What's the best way to record the screen losslessly* nowadays?
I'm using CamStudio with the CamStudio Lossless codec. It's not bad, but when I'm recording at 1920x1080 I get 14 FPS at most, which is not great.
I tried with a couple of other codecs (Lagarith and Ut), but they're even a bit slower and produce much bigger files.
I get more FPS with smaller resolutions, but my CPU is nowhere near maxed out at 1920x1080, with any codec (it goes to about 30% at most).
So what's the reason for low FPS?
Could it be CamStudio? Do other screen recorders perform better?
*I prefer lossless for later editing and final lossy compression without losing too much quality

I gave Action! a try and it doesn't even seem to record losslessly. It's also quite annoying and wants to go online all the time.
I'm still looking for suggestions. -
Alright, thanks. But I don't see any improvement with that.
Just out of curiosity, so that I know how my system compares: how much FPS do you guys get when recording with a lossless codec?
I'm getting around 15 FPS on 1920x1080 and around 20 FPS on 1280x720, with an i5-750 CPU. -
In 1080p, only Mirillis Action! will get 60fps. But you can try DXTORY using UT VIDEO CODEC RGB
