Video player with a 'realtime' slider?

I'd like to know if there is a video player program out there that continuously updates the video displayed AS the progress slider is dragged side to side, as opposed to only updating when the slider is released.. I know quicktime player can do this with some videos, as can some video editing programs, but does a video player exist that can do this with most or all common video formats?

VLC updates as you move the slider. MPCHC and PotPlayer don't require you let go of the slider but only update the screen when you stop moving.

Keep in mind that it can take quite a while to locate, decode and display random frames when using long GOP codecs like h.264.
