Hi currently have Swordfish as a divx rip this is my first attemp of making a VCD or SVCD the info of the divx is as follows:
Audio format : MPEG layer3
Average data rate: 15.975kb/s
sample rate 48.00khz
Frame width: 640
frame hight: 272
frame count 1428334
data rate 119.675 kb/s
video sample rate 24bit
and i have the fowllowing software:
DIVX 5.0 codec
Nero v.5578
TMPGEnc 2.53.35.130
Virtual Dub v1.3c and 1.4.8
Windows Media Encoder v4.0
ok the size of the file before i did anything was 696MB i then followed the tutorial on vcd.com i used virtual dub to extract the audio to make it into .wav this gave me error saying that the input and output were not correct???? but i just renamned the file at the end to .wav and it worked then i used TMPGENC and used the following template that came with it VideoCD (NTSC).mcf (did not change any settings) when the audio was put in with it the out put file came to 990MB so i used TMPGenc to cut the file in half tried burning the first half of the mpeg didnt work on my samsung 709 but tried altering the PAL and NTSC in Nero. IT WORK the quality look good, but the hight looked "squashed" and i the audio was tiny bit out of synch also half way thru it started to freeze and jump.
Now i have read in one of the forums that 120m cd can be done using SVCD by converting to ASF i,ve read upto page 9 and just got totally confused i used the turtorial on Conversion From Divx to ASF.
When it gets to "which network bandwith you would like to use?" it says to select custom and to put a figure in this box i tried putting the data rate of the divx which is shown above as 119.675 kb/s could some please tell me what it is, not sure?
then it asks in "advanced video settings" to select your video size i have tried 480x480 and also left it as it is.
Finally (hooray i hear u say) when i click start the program doesnt run. my apoligies for going on abit just tryin to give you as much info as i can. if any could help in where i am going wrong or just share a quick guide of their own i would be very grateful.
