I am looking to do video file conversions to AVI mostly from MP4 & FLV files. I looking for the resulting files to be specific file sizes. Picky huh?
I have tried XMedia Recode, Pazera MP4 2 AVI and AVS Video Converter along with a bit rate calculator, but the results vary.
Can anyone recommend a conversion program that will yield consistent file sizes?
Thanks in advance...John

What video codec are you using? Divx/Xvid?
And one-pass encoding?
You could also try latest avidemux, under video choose mpeg4 xvid, configure to set it to one pass and set the bitrate, under audio choose mp3 and set the bitrate, save as an avi.
Or some ffmpeg frontend like tencoder, winff, mediacoder. -
I am using Xvid, ususally one pass. I tried the four programs that you recommended. The only one that worked for me was MediaCoder and it works perfectly. Thanks for the help, Baldrick. I can't tell you how long this was driving me crazy.
