It comes with the screen all black, came after my mother had a plate overload and burned some components, starting hence my capture card does not work anymore, what can I do?

Error 10 is device cannot start for one or more reasons ... generally its a hardware fault.

What ever the original fault was prior to this error you could

1: uninstall all drivers and software with came with the device, shut the system down
2: move the device to another slot
3: Restart and let system detect and load device drivers

If the device drivers are part of an installer package ignore window driver install and run the package, reboot, windows may repeat device driver request, point to directory where drivers installed to.

If windows dose not detect device install the device drivers as per normal, usually from the cd which came with the device.

    4: reboot

5: test, if error 10, card is defective

If it still shows error 10 it's a done deal it needs to be replaced although that depends if the mother board developed the fault as you question is some what cryptic ( a little hard to understand)

  4. More information needed on "plate overload and burned some components". Sounds like an electrical problem followed by hardware failure, but that's a rough guess.

Surge Protectors are a good thing to have.

  5. the pctv... this brings back memories i used to have error code 10 i recall, the best way to cure this is to fully uninstall the drivers and reinstall also you may want to move the card to the 1st pci slot ( the one at the very top next to the pci-e (GC).

  6. I'll explain what happened.

He wore a motherboard with this PCTV, http://www.wei.cl/images/products/TVDVPIN005g.gif

But we had a power outage and the motherboard stopped working, I bought another.

And when I try to install the PCTV pci motherboard new, gave error 10, tried with windows xp and windows 7 and nothing.

But I see no apparent defect in PCTV, nothing burned her, she can be recognized by windows and install up the audio, but the video does not install.

If the fact that it is recognized by windows proprio, makes her not be burned, so she is not burned, was wondering how I install my PCTV again.
