Hi! I have some VHS tapes recorded from TV, my VHS recorder recorded programs in HI-FI and also you could turn HIFI off and it had a mono recording, so the mono one (altough it can be heard left and right) it sounds low, even if I turn up the volume it sounds bad in comparison of the HIFI one, the problem with the HIFI one is that since it was recorded more than 10 years ago the audio has cracks and POPs, all tape defects convert into problems in audio, but on the other hand I turn HIFI off and the same audio has no cracks and pops but it sounds more "dead". Can anyone tell me what to do? how can I fix the mono one to be heard like a HIFI one? thanks I have audition and also have audacity.

You'll never get the original "Hi-Fi" sound but you can enhance it to your own liking.....on a computer.
