IF YOU UPGRADE BOTH MACHINES TO WIN XP, YOU CAN NETWORK VIA FIREWIRE EFFORTLESSLY. (NICE EASY WIZARD HOLDS YOUR HAND THROUGH THE WHOLE PROCESS) i USE IT, AND ITS VERY VERY FAST!

If you don't want to upgrade your OS the only way I know of is to use Unibrain's FireNet software. Download it from their website (www.unibrain.com). It's a trial - 30 min per windows session before it expires until the next reboot. Easy installation, good performance (unless you want to use it with Windows ME which for some reason is very slow).

does anybody know how to transfer data between two computer through USB one with XP pro and the other one with ME. I just dont have firewire on one of the computers. What program do I need or all I have to do is just connect the two computers and use the data transfer wizard?
Thankx a lot -
For this you would need a special USB cable. Check www.lpt.com for more details.

I know www.belkin.com makes a cable usb to usb. I don't think you need software you would jusst have to do it like you would with a Network cable...
