Hello everyone, i was wondering if i got faked Verbatim Lightscribe 96164 CD-R's from Amazon.
    Purchased late 2011 early 2012.

I can only see 1 code right around the spindle hole:

    Examples-
    B3125P117010053LH
    C3125P117010058LH
    C3125P117010054LH

    Any help would be appreciated!!

Install the free ImgBurn program, open it and put one of your CDs in a burner drive. Look in the Info tab and give us the Manufacturer ID.

I did Lightscribe for years and I want to warn you that it WILL with 100% certainty shorten the lifespan of your burner to use it to make disc labels. And quite a few of my labels are already fading into nothingness despite being stored away from sunlight and in temperature controlled conditions. I gave up on the format and switched to using Verbatim's inkjet writable DataLifePlus discs or Taiyo Yuden's Watershield discs and it's not cheaper than Lightscribe, the quality (color inkjet printing) is much better too.

Seems to be a generic number i saw on a lot of postings on the web.
Opinions vary about whether or not CMC is making them for Verbatim, that's why i looked on the disk for any hub numbers and posted them here.
I only print a name on a disk with the lightscribe feature, so hopefully the burner will last awhile!

Verbatim uses CMC for CD-R, yes. Not fake, just maybe not very good.
I moved to TY CD-R several years ago.

So your saying that its still "Verbatim", but CMC is making it under license? Thus lowering the quality? Do you have a website you purchase the TY from i could check out?
