I have a video file that was given to me that's about 1.7 Meg in size with no file extension on it. I've tried adding AVI and MP4 as extensions with no luck. Is there any kind of application out there that can take a look at this thing and tell me what type of file extension it needs?
Any help would be appreciated.

other than that opening the file with a hex editor might also give some hints about the format,...
