It's been years since I've ripped a dvd and I'm not sure if Virtualdub-Mpg2 or Vob2Mg2 is usable on a windows 7 Home Premium 64bit system.
Here is how I used to rip a DVD and take out sections of either or both the video and audio (audio in usually in WAV format) to put them back again in another video editor.
1. DVDFab HD Decrypter (using the whole movie. the free part.)
2. Vob2mpg (making the vob into an mpg2...)
3. Virtualdub-Mpg2 (then taking out parts of the movie like a pre, pre-edit, sometimes just audio clips, video, or both audio and video. full process? I'm almost sure.)
4. Using a choice of editors out of three (one doesn't do divx.), And also Audacity, I woud alter clips to my liking and then put them into one editor for an approximately 3-8 minute clip.
I used steps 1, 2, and 3 to get my clips, and unless these programs won't work with Win7 Home premium, I only want to use these programs, plus the "regular" Virtualdub again. (Some of the pre-edit clip plug-ins would only work in Virtualdub.) I don't know if this is still true or if someone made a Virtualdub, that included the mpg2, cartoonizer, logo remover and I think the WMV plug-in. If "they" did, that would be great!!!
So, does anyone know if those 3 (4 if you count the "regular" Virtualdub would still work in Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit? If so, could you point me to which versions of these would work well together? I mean, even if they all had to be in 32bit. There are programs from my XP machine, that won't work with my Win7 Home Premium and in the tools, I see some haven't been updated. Gee, I know very little about computer's, I do hope I'm asking these questions correctly...![]()
