    Hi there

I was wondering if anyone knows how to make it so i can record with a USB webcam?

Then save it to a common format such as AVI, MPG etc?

    Thanks

  2. Just about every video capture program can record from a webcam. VirtualDub, for example.

When i do this though it doesnt play the avi properly afterwards.....
It plays the first frame and thats all and just plays for the 10 seconds i recorded for but with the picture frozen.

What settings should be applied in XviD?

    Thanks

Just wanted to now add when i play it back it plays in VERY VERY slow motion. Almost 1 frame per 5 seconds.

Aah ok thats because i played it back in VLC but on WMP is fine

So how would i make it so the output file plays well on VLC?

    Thank.

Im wondering if Klite codec pack might be responsible for this?

I should really stay away from that shouldn't I?

Should i remove it and if so what should i have installed on here to get the best setup?

    What would you guys recommend?

  6. Capturing with slow codecs like Xvid isn't advisable. Use fast lossless codecs like Huffyuv than convert to Xvid later. Same with audio.

    Generally good capture advice: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/104098-Why-does-your-system-drop-frames
