    Hi everybody,

I have a question about disabling harddrive-sharing on my Windows 7 pc. When I disable the drive's sharing (I do this in the Sharing-tab of it's properties) I get the following message with a yes and no button:

"There are 1 file(s) open by 1 user(s) connected to F. If you stop sharing F, the files will close, which may cause these users to lose data. Do you want to continue?"

Wondering what user that would be, I disconnected all other machines from the network. Still getting the message. Curious if it would be something/someone from outside, I took out the modem's internet cable, but the message remains...

I never had this in the past and wonder if someone knows what's wrong?

    Thanks in advance all,

    Ennio

  2. How did you "disconnect" the other computers? If you didn't do so properly, or if a program crashed without properly closing a file, you will get that message because Windows doesn't know the program is no longer using the file.

I properly shut down the pc's and the mediaplayer. Even disconnected a mini printserver I have.

After a reboot of both my modem/router and my pc - still being the only device connected to my LAN (and some switches in the house) - I get the message. Strange hey?
