Wide or zoomed screen on Dvd Player

Dear Friends
I converted some flv files in to Divx format. these files working normaly on my PC. But when I play them on my home DVD player, picture loooks wide than normal. exp. if there is a logo on any video corner, it looks normal on my PC but when I play the same video on my DVD player, that logo looks half in the corner.
Please help me to solve this problem. and let me know what I do?

What are you converting with? And to what resolution/frame size?

I am converting Indian old movies songs. duration of each song is 3 mnts to 6 mnts.
I am using Aiseesoft Total Video Converter Platinum Ver. 6.3.6
Resolution is 640x480 and frame rate is 29.97fps
