Just deselect the AVC/H264 DXVA decoder @ options/internal filters/transform filters

  2. Disable: View -> Options -> Internal Filters (left pane) -> H264/AVC (DXVA) (right pane). Exit and restart MPCHC.

  3. Also try remuxing to MKV, you can use MMG, part of MkvToolnix. I find MP4 to be much more troublesome for playback on Windows.

I checked it, but I already had that DVXA disabled by default.

So the only good result so far comes from AL's mkv and the splash player combination.

I have tried playing these mp4 on the new iMac of my friend that has an i7 processor, the playback was just as bad as in Windows. I tried Quicktime, iPhoto on it, there were sequencial jumps in the video, the only thing that gave close to acceptable results was DivX player. But that did not perform better than on Windows, either.

Or you can encode your video into mpeg2 , I used HCencoder Constant Quantization mode which produced in this case file slightly bigger , average 28Mbit , you original is something 24Mbit.

Al, can you write me what script you used and upload a screenshot about the HCEnc panels so that I can see what options to set.

    Thank you!

  6. I loaded that Sanyo video into Sony Vegas 8.0c and then used Debugmode frame server to get it out. This has certain advantage because you can join clips, edit etc. and then export it out directly to HcEncoder. So I got server.avi getting out of Vegas then I loaded this Avisynth script into HcEncoder:
    Code:
    AviSource("E:\server.avi")
ConvertToYV12(matrix="PC.709")#PC color space so you can see it on screen as original, this is a Vegas thing ...
If you want to transcode directly, you can use ffdshow, you use this script:
    Code:
    DirectShowsource("SANY0001.MP4")
it might not handle audio and HCencoder will not handle audio anyway so you have to get that AC3 somewhere else and then you use MKVmerge tool to mux mkv

-ffmpegsource did not seem to handle video correctly in Avisynth , I tried that too
-you can try also dgavcidex or dgindexnv (pay version only? not sure) to load it with Avisynth, did not try that

pics for HCencoder to encode with constant quantizer, progressive video,

You can use Restream to correct that m2v stream and get that redundant upper field flag away and set progressive

Did you try enabling it? Some graphics cards go beyond the baseline DXVA spec.

Also, did you try remuxing to MKV yet? That alone may be sufficient.

Last I heard, Divx's h.264 decoder was the fastest. CoreAVC second fastest.
Where is that DXVA option to switch off? In which menu?
Go into MPC-HC's options. Under Internal filters uncheck the appropriate DXVA Transform Filter (h264/AVC, VC1 etc. according to the type of video for which you want to disable DXVA). Restart MPC-HC.

I just tried playing your sample and my old dual core CPU played it smoothly once DXVA was disabled.

Whoops..... I guess I was a little slow with posting.....

I may sound stupid, but magically the mp4 plays 99% perfect now on MPC, still not as fluent as on TV from the camcorder or when the player window is set smaller, and not to Full Screen, but it is good. I don't understand how the hell it is possible. I didn't do anything, I only uninstalled an ffdshow package and a few more video players, and reinstalled the klite codec pack. That's all.

Anyway if I enable DXVA, the playback is not good, there is collapsing, slow downs, jumps.
