  1. Hello,
    Im trying to add subtitles to a movie, but subtitles workshop doesnt show any picture when I put any video.
    Im trying .mov and .avi files.

    What codecs I need ?
    Maybe I have to change some properties ?

    If you have a totally fresh system install and don't have any of the "usual" codecs installed you will need to get them obviously.

    Stay away from codec packs! Just get what you need.

    Use mediainfo and open the files you are working on. It will tell you what codecs were used. Then go and download the latest versions of those codecs and only those codecs, just get what you need nothing more.

    Just make sure you get the 32bit codecs if you are running a 32bit OS and 64bit for 64bit os.

    Well, Ive used that application, but It doesnt tell me what codec I have to get to use MOV files.
    Why not to download kLite+++ ?

    If its mov its probably h264 or quicktime. Do you have quicktime installed? It should work with that. If not download h264 (I thinks its actually x264).

    Codec packs are not looked upon favorably here. They can have unforseen complications. Just get the codec you need individually.

  5. Ive just installed quicktime 7 and its not working. (i havent rebooted the system()

  6. Well Ive already installed quicktime, h264 and x264 and it still doesnt load the .MOV files and gives this error:
    "the file XXX is a bad subtitle or an unsupported format"

    All I can suggest, if you haven't already tried it, is to use another subtitle program. That or reencode your video to another format and try that. But of course keep your original as your source file.
