  1. I bought a Lenovo Z570 laptop a year a go. For the first time, I tried to hook up the computer to my TV with an HDMI cord. I found the computer HDMI doesn't put out a signal (yes I switched to output to HDMI). I went to the Lenovo forums and found lots of people who's HDMI doesn't work.
Lenovo replied it doesn't work. How does a computer company put out a computer that doesn't work? Anybody have this laptop with the same problem? What did you do to fix it?

    Thank you,
    Chris.

  2. Did you Press the "FN" and "F7" keys on your keyboard. This will switch the laptop's display to the TV. Not sure that will work with your model but worth a try. Maybe try a different HDMI cable?

And you are correct that lots of Lenovo users complain about the HDMI out not working. Most complaints about DVI to HDMI but that isn't your problem. Maybe a driver problem?

  3. Mine is "FN" "F3" which switches it to two monitors but it doesn't do anything.

  4. The Lenovo Z series is notorious for multiple issues: inability to use standard Windows OS upgrades, HDD compatibility problems, faulty optical drives, faulty networking, faulty hardware security gimmicks, and faulty HDMI. Workarounds eventually turn up but are never announced or provided directly by Lenovo: the help always comes from clever owners who post in the Lenovo support forums. Unfortunately, digging thru those forums and other related sites is very, very tedious and time consuming: tips are available but hard to find. Really disappointing, because the Z570 is otherwise a well-equipped and very speedy laptop series with a great keyboard, decent trackpad, good speakers and good external build quality. I had one for several months, but had to sell it at a loss because of the aggravation.
