  1. Hi

I posted in Newbies for the first time yesterday....i'm having a problem!

I basically wish to encode a video to DVD so I can then be able to use the DVD/CD - HDD option on my Sony DVD HDD, which is greyed out when i've tried all the programs/options i've read about.

I understand I must encode the .avi file to MPEG2 and then to DVD.....but everything I have tried doesn't work.

I've been burning for years and can make recordings work on DVD, but I want this to be able to be put onto my DVD HDD - i'm just doing something wrong somewhere.

I've tried all kinds of programs and olyteddy suggested I use AVS to DVD, which I am doing now, but I don't hold out much hope!

Any experts than can help? I'm really frustrated I'd hoped it wasn't going to be so confusing

    Thanks.
