    I connect the sony hc96 to the 1394 card first time, win7 identifies the cam, loads the driver and says the cam is unplugged.

    It worked when OS was winxp.
    Any help is appreciated.

    I know that it helps for some cams to switch the firewire driver to the legacy driver, see: http://kc.flexradio.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50433.aspx

    I did it as written, the driver in device manager shows (legacy), IT WORKS!!
