Hi guys, I'm new to video capture and all i want is to stream and record what's on my tv to my laptop (wirelessly). right now i bought a video capture usb (SIIG/Honestech) that's working great except my laptop has to be connected (via a usb & rca cable interface to the TV) and I'd prefer if i could do it wirelessly w/o connecting my laptop to the TV. Can this product do what I'm looking for? Thanks

  2. Not unless your TV has a compatible wireless output signal. I'm not aware of any TV that has such a feature.

If your TV has a "monitor out" feature, or if the video source (cable box, satellite box, DVD player) has composite video output you can use something like this:

Thanks Jagabo! Interesting! Now I've read the description and looked at the specs but I still don't know what would this do? I don;t know if my TV has an (rca out), but my VCR does. So if connect this to my VCR (rca out) what exactly will it do? I see a blue thing on the unit, is that a internet port? Can you please elaborate what will this do and how will it help me accomplish what I want? Thank you again!

The blue thing is a group of DIP switches. My guess is that the switches are used to configure various settings for the device.

  5. The wireless transmitter/receiver replaced the A/V cables from the video source to the video destination.

Very few TVs have a monitor-out output.
