  1. Hey everyone!
I have some miniDV's witch I captured with a sony PD150. after I edit them in iMovie I export the project with "Large Movie" option. here are the specs:

Now when i burn this with Nero in windows (I dont have iDVD on my MAC) the resulting video is so low quality that titles get blurred. the .M4V video is also not with very good quality! any other ways to export movies to get better results?

the captured miniDV if pal should be 720x576i 25fps @ 25mbps. what imovie does with it i don't know but the original quality should be very good. try something else to convert the captured DVavi. maybe handbrake? i think it has a mac version.

Yes, you shouldn't be exporting with "Large Movie" option, you should be saving the Movie as-is (which should be DV). Then compressing that DV into MPEG2 (plus AC3/MP2/PCM audio) and burning a dvd from there (do you have Toast?).

Since I filmed them in low light environment movies are a little bit grainy but quality is acceptable! but yet comparing the final result with the original material its crap!

The bitrate is too low for noisy footage . Increase the bitrate and you should try denoising it - not sure if you can with imovie. But noise doesn't compress well
