Blaupunkts are usually Panasonic clones....Metz too.
Philips had some JVC clones. I bought one recently(VR 1100)...NICE machine. -
Thanks hech but i couldn't find some table where it says which model of blaupunkt or this model from nordmende is which clone of panasonic model. The problem is that i cant go there to test it so i try to find some information about the models prior to buying.
I don't know if orseto or other knowledgeable guys of this forum have any experience of european brands models clones of jvc or panasonic or have any information regardless these 2 models any help is appreciated.
Vcrs in good condition are very rare this days and i think they are in good condition -
There was a nordmende similar to that in our "elektromüle"(?) pile a few months ago sitting on top of my old Philips. I checked it out and it looked pretty cool.....apparently someone else thought the same thing because when I walked past it again it was gone....

Blaupunkt VCRs are not clones, they are rebrands. It's the same internals with a different label made by Panasonic for Blaupunkt. RTV-915 should be Panasonic NV-FS90. I wouldn't want one if they came for free - which they usually do.

and what's the difference you mean Panasonic uses less quality ( shitty ) parts ( like car manufacturer uses for different market area like for eastern europe ) for their pals at Germany. I am just asking not opposing you, because i had some past with blaupunkt products ( not vcr ) and they seem very well made products Deutschland made which is not something made in China.Blaupunkt VCRs are not clones, they are rebrands. It may be NV FS90 because ( 915,920,925 are almost the same same mechanics and all maybe some minor add on) i think 920 is Panasonic NV FS100 and is it that not the same as pana AG1970 ( considering FS200 is the same as Ag1980 ) and i think they have the same G mechanism of Panasonic so that cant be wrong is it or I am missing something ?
PS : I miss orseto detailed and brutally honest explanation of hardware devices here -
In this case rebrands use same parts. Internals are the same. This is pretty common knowledge and with some googling it's possible to find the charts describing the common models (Panasonic<>Blaupunkt<>Metz<>Loewe). I got one Blaupunkt myself for spare parts for it's Pana counterpart. A guy from Germany told me that they needed (also) to be sold under Blaupunkt brand because some people had strong affection to the brand and so I guess Panasonic brand would've been seen as inferior product (and Blaupunkt didn't make their own high-end VCRs).
Your second question I don't quite understand. Do you mean to ask why FS90 is not a good VCR? I personally don't like those ancient decks. If you need one, get FS-200, it's not like they cost much and at any time many are for sale on eBay. IIRC FS90 doesn't even have a TBC. -
Thanks juhok for explanation but i couldn't find pan-blaup-metz loe charts on int for an hour can you post some
i do have fs200 and HS1000 pal models ( which according to our site are the best pal models) the question was is it not true that fs100 ( pal) is the same as ag1970 and that is pretty good vcr ( even some prefer it more than ag1980 fs200) and it has tbc i thought that fs90 ( or fs100 I am not sure what blau rtv 915 is ) has tbc also maybe I am wrong.Your second question I don't quite understand. what about the nordmende v8005 if you have any info, charts, sites i will appreciate if you share it
thanks juhok again -
I have no knowledge of USA models so I can't comment on them. But FS-100 doesn't have TBC. Nordmende v8005 is a complete stranger to me. I know only about those that I use / find interesting.
Here's some info about newer models http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/video-restore/1567-vcr-buying-guide.html (OP missing many additions from the end of the thread)
Here's older Pana<>Bp http://www.hifi-studio.de/hifi-klassiker/panasonic_nv-f70.htm
Some of the more complete ones I've lost and don't want to spend an hour on this.
(HS-1000 = Blaupunkt RTV-965, Loewe OC-3800) -
Interesting article from the time of format wars. Anyway, it's not related to these models under discussion.

i thought the same, i had visited some time back web page ( i could swear that i saw some blaupunkts and philips and grunding models all european models ) that made some trough performance and feature's of svhs units ( it had about 20-30 models i guess ) from the late 80's to the late 90's with good/bad sort of review but i cannot find it in my bookmarks ( which is flooded by the way ) because i re install the pc all the time, that was some pretty good site it was uk i guessInteresting article from the time of format wars. Yeah european models do exist but they don't make it to the most recommended lists nowdays.

I have two of these in the loft. I was always told that they were a rebadged JVC HR-S5500. Certainly, I used my JVC remote with them all day long with no worries. Last time I plugged them in they gave a very snowy picture. I kind-of hope that they'll rejuvenate themselves after a bit of a clean.
Hope that helps,
Mike.
