  1. total noob here, but lets say I have 30 or 60 mp4 files they are all clips from the same video is there anyway to put them together into on file rather then watching one clip then closing/ opening another?

    Joining video is not that simple. But if they have exact same properties you can try avidemux, open first mp4, append the rest, under video and audio choose copy, save as a new mp4.

    But appending several clips might take some time so you could try join all with vobmerge. In vobmerge click Add files and choose select all files and open all mp4s, then make a single mp4 instead of a vob. The new mp4 might not work perfect because the video headers aren't updated. So you could then remux/open the new mp4 in for example mymp4boxgui, and try output a new one that might work better.

    If the mp4s doesn't have same properties could you try freemake video converter, load mp4s and at top right click join, convert to a new mp4.

    Or make a playlist in your video player.
