I have recently been asked to gather family info like DOB, anniversaries, phone numbers, etc. and put in a data base for all family members to see. I have never had to gather and keep such data, so where do I start? Free software is preferred. Is there a web site for such data gathering/storage?
Google calenders? Outlook?
The family also wants me to be able to print out a calender with all the important dates on it. Will I need different software for this part of the project? Would I be able to export these dates and send to a professional printer if the family wants something like that?
sorry, newbie at this sort of stuff.
thanks in advance.

Google calender is probably the easiest to use and you can give family members a link to the calendar so that they can print it out.

What about the data such as phone #, address, etc. What software?

You could just create a simple Word type file with phone numbers, addresses, etc. in Google Docs and give access to whoever wants/needs it.
