Hi all,i've got a Pinnacle PCTV Rave TV card which i would like to capture VHS from and have a couple of questions....

I bought the card secondhand and the original driver disk was slightly damaged,i downloaded the latest drivers from the Pinnacle site, but i find i am unable to record anything from the SVHS input. Is there something on the original CD i'm missing?.

How much difference would recording from the SVHS input instead of the standard aerial input make?,i tried recording and playing back short sections of VHS and it appeared to be slightly blocky and jerky.

    Any other help greatly appreciated.
    :)
    P.S. System as follows....

    1.2 AMD Athlon
    256meg RAM
Waiting to be fitted with new 20gig IBM h/drive and 64meg GFX card.

What OS are you using? I just got rid of a PCTV (almost identical to the Rave) because it's drivers for 2000 were so god awful. Just trying save someone else the pain that I went through with that card...went back to an old Happague card and the composite input looks better than what I was getting out of the Pinnacle...only my 2 cents, and I have seen many posts were people say they get good quality out of a PCTV...but I have seen a lot of quotes where people are struggling with them as well...
