  1. I can watch VCD's on my DVD player no problem (its a wintel )
But when I try to create my own the player does not reconise them
The file structure seems to be different on the VCD movies that I own compared to the file structure that nero creates?

My DVD player does support VCD2.0 SVCD and CDR/RW, but for some reson the type of VCD the nero 5.0 or5.5 has been creating coming up as "no disc"

I have also tried VCDeasy but this will not work as my CD burner does not support "disk at once" mode

    ANY IDEAS?
    please HELP!!!!

  2. I don't suppose that Wintel has a model number, does it?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. The model is win3001b but as I said it does play VCD's just not ones I have been creating. The ones I make however work in other DVD players?

Have you tried another brand of media?

does the drive say there's a CD in it at all?

Or does it say the cd is reallyl small, like 1.3 megs?

If there's no disk at all, then yeah, u got a problem

If it says the disk is like 1.3 megs, ur kool. The actual movie is stored with a different system that the computer won't report when it checks the size.

Try to play the Dat files with Windows Media player

  6. Basically Im starting to think the problem is the software the .dat files will on the computer, but my dvd player says "no disc" what seems to be the problem is finding the same software that my "bought" VCD movies have been created on since VCDeasy and nero 5.0 or 5.5 do not seem to create the right type of VCD that my player wants

If your player says "no disc" I'd seriously bet that it is not capable of reading the cdr or burnt media you burnt onto.
