Hello, everybody.
I've just registered here, so I hope I'm posting in the right section. If not, I ask any moderator to move it to the right place.

Well, here's my problem. VLC Media Player is the only software I could find that downloads parts of a streaming video. This function is ver, very useful, so that we don't have to download a whole video just because we need a few seconds of it.

I've followed Baldrick's tutorial here:

How to record streaming WMV/ASF/MMS-links using VLC Media Player

And it works great (just had to change a few options to record the way I wanted). But the original streaming video was in a quality of 6000k and, although I've set VLC to record it in 6000k, the video is blocky, clearly with an inferior quality.

My connection should download at about 500 kb/s. It may not be the fastest, but I guess it should be enough, since streams are progressive. COuld take long, but should download ok...

The protocol is mms and the file extension is wmv. I am running VLC 2.0.3 on Windows 7 64 bits.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Edit: I also tried WM Recorder, but after 2 seconds downloading, the recording is stopped, with no explanation.
