MPC-HC audio problems - no center channel??

I can use the old xvidvideo.ru builds no problem (latest version 4992), but if I try to update with any of the newer xhmikosr builds (latest vers 5857), I don't get centre channel audio playing? - (eg dialog). Nothing I can find in Options fixes this? I use 2 powered stereo speakers (no surround setup). What has changed/broken??

What audio decoder is in use? Right click on the MPCHC window while the video is playing, hover over Filters..., examine the list of filters in use. One of them will be the audio decoder. There will also be an audio rendering device. You can select them to change any options. Make sure your speakers are configured (Control Panel) for stereo, not 5.1 or other multichannel setup.

Sorry I never got back to replying... As you suggested, under Filters/Audio Decoder I simply had to enable "mixer" & select stereo output. Thank you jagabo.
