  1. I've bought a Seagate Expansion 3,5" 3TB Extern USB3.0. The user guide says it should be compatible to USB 2 ports as well.

I have authored a lot of family recordings (VHS, Hi8, miniDV) to DVD.

My idea was to copy DVD files from my computer at high speed, and then connect the disk to a USB 2 port on my Tvix 5100.

The problem is that the Tvix doesn't recognize the USB 3 disk...

    What am I doing wrong?
I have no problems connecting the USB3disk to my older computers with USB 2 ports.

Maybe it isn't the USB 3.0 interface. Even some PCs have difficulty with 3TB HDDs. Consult the Tvix 5100 manual to see if there are restrictions on HDD capacity. Possibly partitioning the HDD using capacities the Tivx permits would allow theTvix to use it.

  3. The Tvix probably doesn't support GPT drives (required for >2.2 TB drives).

Looks like a firmware update will fix that problem.

The Dvico Site seems to be down at the moment. Do you know what firmware I should look for?

I just did a search for Tvix and GPT. I saw mention of updated firmware supporting GPT.
