I have downloaded a few videos from twitch.tv. When I attempt to play the files in MPC-HC or VLC there is no audio. I have installed FLVsplitter and Xiph.Org Open Codecs with no success. Attached is the mediainfo information.

    Code:

  2. ffplay should be able to play it

(if you download one the builds from zeranoe, you will see speex is one of the external libraries used , so the ffplay that comes with ffmpeg should be able to play it)

    http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/

It's not a common audio compression, so common or popular media players probably wouldn't have compiled support for it

Thanks worked great. Saved me the effort of transcoding.

    Just for the notes,

Mplayer is much better than ffplay

Also, there is a Speex ACM decoder which can be used by DirectShow players like MPC-HC

( BUT I have not checked if it works with any FLV splitter )

    Hi
Your version of mPlayer has been compiled without speex support.
Maybe you can find a different version.
Mine is OK because I compiled it myself with Linux.

    Code:

Yep switching versions fixed the problem. The version I downloaded from videohelp was the problem. The version from this site worked fine though http://sourceforge.net/projects/mplayer-win32/

At that bit rate and sampling rate that audio is going to sound like crap! Never heard of speex before but I found some info on it. I don't know what twitch.tv is, but I can tell you that based on your audio alone I'd probably never watch it. You should be aware that the video is rather bizarre too. I would basically expect this file to never play on any standalone media player I've heard of.

The audio is only speech so very low bitrates required. As for the wierd video what do you expect from a streaming video site.

    That's good.
    Now you could install SMPlayer...
And replace the mplayer.exe with your new version.
    C:\Program Files/SMPlayer/mplayer/mplayer.exe

    From here ---> http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/index.php?tr_lang=en

I did that as soon as mplayer stated working on its own.
