Thanks for the tips, I'm going to play around with Cuttermaran here now 'cause I'm obviesly missing something, I haven't been able to hear any audio through Cuttermaran at all when playing back demux video, something I found odd, your description is exactly what I need to do... so let me see what I can do...

Cuttermaran will automatically import supported types of audio files only if the filename is the same as the video file and it is in the same folder. Otherwise, you need to import audio files manually.

Cuttermaran has always imported the audio files automatically but only offered video playback (and was wondering why), just now I'm reading trying to figure out this issue, I think I need to install an AC3 codec that Cuttermaran can use for playback, but I'm not sure which, I need to make sure this PC is not damaged with funky software since I'm using an M-audio 9624 card for other audio only projects.

Not sure what ac3 codec other programs like Imago are using in my Sys to code ac3 audio and why Cuttermaran is not using the same..Hmmmm

If you have any tips I'll appreciate it, once I can setup Cuttermaran to do as you are, I'll be moving fast!

Imago only multiplexes. It doesn't encode or decode audio so it does not need an AC3 codec to work. However, anything that plays audio does need a decoder for each of the types of audio it supports. I have ac3filter.ax installed from AC3Filter. There are may be other AC3 decoders installed too, but I'm not sure what they are.

Yes, I guess all my other players like VLC Media player, Roxio, etc use their own internal built-in ac3 codec, as I never had the need to install a stand along ac3 codec before, AC3filter is highly recommended, so I'm going to give it a try, I also read that I may have to re-install Cuttermaran after the AC3 codec installation, I'll see, keeping my finger crossed.

Usually-quiet, cuttermaran is now working perfectly after installing ac3filter and didn't have to re-install it, fixing synch problems is very easy now, editing is so nice that I decided to do all the clips here instead of Roxio, later I'll just use it to author the DVD, hopefully without any issues..

By the way, to see all your installed codecs in your Win machine, open Windows Media player -> help->about media player -> technical support information, this generates a list with all the codecs.

Thanks for all your help, tomorrow I'll start on the second recovery disc, wish me luck!

That is exactly what I did before I posted regarding AC3Filter to try to figure out what AC3 codecs were installed. AC3Filter was listed under "MPEG/DVD Filters" , but there was another entry under "Audio Codecs", "ACM Decode AC3 and DTS audio" with no binary or version shown. That could be from AC3Filter too, but I don't know if it could be from something else instead.

It is ac3filter's codec, I checked before installation and had no other codecs but the ones attached to player/etc in my PC, but after installation ac3filter shows up in both locations, the version listed under my 'audio codecs' section is 2.5.0.0.' binary= ac3filter.acm, you may have and older version, but if it is working..
