Why on earth would you buy a DVD recorder made in the UK?

You do need to accept the possibility that you were sold defective goods, particularly if you bought it via Ebay or Craigslist. It happens. And sometimes honest sellers simply have defective merchandise and there's no intent to cheat, the device was just bad from the factory.

Are you having problems or are you not having problems? Your most recent post says "i just recoded tv shows back up on hard drive and bruned fine". Maybe you need to figure out if you are or are not having problems and get back to us.

Panasonic's DVD recorders had multiple problems, in U.S. and UK models alike. I believe Panasonic regional service centers still work on those machines. You might try checking their website.
