I have a DVD burned on my Pioneer set-top DVD Recorder. It was not in the compliant DVD-Video mode (VIDEO_TS, .vob files, etc.) Is there a way to use imgburn to convert it to be a complaint DVD video, playable in any DVD player? Please advise.

No. You must use something to convert or reauthor(no conversion) it to a compliant dvd. Something like tmpgenc authoring works.

hi Baldrick. I found out that i had already asked this question a few years ago, but totally forgot how to do it until reading an earlier post on here. On the Pioneer DVD recorder-created disc, there is a folder called RTAV or something. In that folder, there are two files. One of them is the video content itself, which has an extension of .vro. I simply copy that file to my hard drive, rename it with a typical .mpg extension, and then can play it with a media player, or re-create a DVD with it that is compliant, which i did with much success. Thanks for your suggestion!

This is the exact answer I was going to say ... but I would use ... TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works ... to extract the file and mess around with it ... but Baldrick answer would work to ... just extract the movie to another folder and create a new DVD Video Structure.

A vro just renamed to mpg will work with some/most players, most of the time. But you will find that it will hang up when you least expect it. You really want to do the remuxing right and go with an app that supports vro, like the aforementioned Tmpegenc authoring works.
