  1. Short version: Is there a way to convert .mvpd back to .avi?

Long version: I have a 1G iPod Nano that I put podzilla on a long time ago. There is a home video clip that I took and converted it from .avi to .mvpd to play on the Nano. This was about 5 years ago. Since then I've lost the original clip. My son has been using the Nano and recently the battery died in it, so I took it apart and soldered in a new battery, problem fixed. Since I had it I started playing around with it a little bit and lo and behold, I rediscovered this video clip that I had converted to .mvpd and put on the Nano. I had forgotten all about it.

Now this .mvpd version is the only one that I can find of this original video clip, but the only way I can play it is on this iPod Nano and its teeny tiny little screen, which is obviously not ideal, not to mention this thing will eventually die at some point. I've backed up the .mvpd file now but I can't find any way to play it other than on the Nano, nor have I been able to find a way to convert it back to .avi. Gspot (don't know if that tool is still widely used anymore, it was back when I was messing around with video conversion) doesn't even know what it is.

    Any ideas?

    MediaInfo might recognize it.

  3. Thanks for the suggestion. MediaInfo doesn't seem to offer much. Is there a view that I should post for examination?
