Nope, not since they pay winners of medals. Amateur was the way to go.

Very enjoyable this year, from the opening on...

Watching it even in 3D when there's good events available there!!

A little tired of US-centric coverage, but not surprised living in the US.

    Nope.

If I have time to watch sports, I'll watch baseball.

  5. Just an event or two.

I did try watching some of the 3D coverage. Had to record it first with my HD-PVR, since my cable box has component rather than HDMI. It was okay for the most part, but I prefer the 2D coverage.

    Nope.

The ONLY Olympics that I watch are the mens winter ice hockey. That is some of the best hockey around when the absolute best of the world literally face off against each other.

Love it, always have. I didn't think I'd get so caught up with it this time, but I have. Probably helps that it's been either 90+ degrees outside and humid or pouring so I'm stuck inside. Sure, it concentrates on American athletes, but NBC paid billions $$$ to cover it, what do you expect. However, there have been some great non-American stories and showings; Bolt, the British 10000m winner, Andy Murray in tennis, the South Korean blind archer and others.

Watched a couple of events on NBC streaming. It was kind of neat because they didn't keep jumping around from event to event like they do on the network(s) shows. Oh yeah, and no commercials...

The UK gold winner gets a stamp issued with their image on it - but no money.
The postal service will also paint a mail box in their home town with gold paint.

It's great to see sports that aren't usually covered on TV. I've been engrossed by the cycling, rowing, sailing etc.
Watching China Vs. Japan Womens Volleyball at the moment, an amazingly close match

The only thing I have a problem with, is the Medal Table. I much prefer the system that the old Soviet Union used, where it was the number of medals won, as opposed to the number of Gold medals won which determined Medal Table positions. Seems silly that Kazakhstan (6 Gold, 0 Silver, 1 Bronze) are "beating" Germany (5 Gold, 13 Silver, 7 Bronze)

    LOL

I've taken this week off work (not to watch the Olympics, but just because the Olympics have stopped me working),
and I'm quite liking the Womens Beach Volleyball - US Vs. China - was great...
Strangely, I have no inclination to watch the Male Beach Volleyball...

The best statistics of all for the Olympic Village -
In Sydney they provided 70,000 condoms, and had to find 20,000 extra because they ran out
In Beijing they provided 100,000 condoms
In London they provided 150,000 condoms, and so far haven't had to find extras - But Heck! the closing ceremony hasn't started yet...

Similarly here - the Olympics watches me instead of me watching it.

It's not that I'm not a sports fan, but the Olympics, for some reason, is something that I catch any action of when it just so happens to be on a TV I'm nearby or channel flipping through, and then, "Ok, let me check this out a bit."

To me it's not like other events I anticipate and schedule myself to watch. Any viewing of the Olympics is never planned.
I hate VHS. I always did.
