  1. Hi there, I'm having problems converting an MKV file to BD-R. It plays fine as an MKV, but not as a BD-R. I used multiAVCHD to convert it (read a few tutorials/FAQs first) and all seemed to go well. However, when I play it, it plays choppy at certain points in the movie almost like a poor satellite signal during a storm. I am able to rip a blu ray, burn it, and play it, but am having problems converting MKVs. Any ideas or input? Was going to give Tsmuxer a go later on, but wanted some feedback before I go on another disc fragging frenzy.

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

    M35514H

P.S. I did search this forum and others for a solution and could only find people experienceing similar issues with "audio synch"; I have problems with choppy video.

Plays choppy on what? PC or standalone BluRay player? Some BluRay players are VERY fussy about what multiAVCHD produces as output. My Momitsu simply won't play anything that multiAVCHD makes. Other players require certain things like they may require AVCHD format or only BluRay format. Also, what kind of BD-R discs are you using? Some players are fussy about the LTH type of discs and have problems with them. My Momitsu will only play certain specific brands of LTH discs. The current Verbatims seem fine as do the old (no longer made) Taiyo Yuden ones. The current Taiyo Yuden ones won't play at all, having a slightly different manufacturer code than the original ones and presumably some other minor differences that are just enough to give my player fits. If you're getting choppy playback on a PC then that points to something in the conversion process as a PC should not be fussy about disc brands and formats like standalone players are.
