  1. Basically I'm following the burn directions on the site. (New, Video CD, draggin the file and hitting Write CD). The quality seems to be the same as the source, but the menus aren't burning on any vcd's I own. Some of them it's important b/c they have rare songs playing over the menus.

    Much obliged!

  2. I'm not entirely clear on what you want to do?

Do you want to copy an existing VCD?

The best way to do that is to simply use the copy CD function on your burning proggy (e.g., Nero). Otherwise, CloneCD or CDRWin are excellent for doing a DAO copy of an existing CD.

  3. Thx for the reply.

Basically I'm trying to burn existing VCD's. When I burn them the quality appears to be the same, only problem is that I can't get the menus to burn.

I use Nero for VCD's. ONly thing is, I use adaptec for regular cd's so I don't really know how to use Nero to create a regular cd. Someone told me I had to make a cd image or something like that.

When I make a VCD w/ Nero I select New, Video CD, drag the file and hit Write CD.

  4. As per my above comments...

A VCD is just a CD. That is, it can be copied like any other CD.

Nero (and even Easy CD Creator I believe) have a "CD Copying" option somewhere. Use that. You should not be using a "Create new VCD" wizard if you are copying a VCD.

The best proggies (IMHO) for copying any CD (including VCDs) however, is CloneCD or CDRWin.

  5. Thx Mike! So I just go to Adaptec, choose cd copier, and that's it??? NOt even burn as a data disc?

Thx again, if i can get this right let me know if you need anything (www.phishhook.com/lists/llama024)

  6. Exactly!

Just do a CD copy. In fact, a VCD isn't even a CD-ROM ("Data CD") so you definitely shouldn't be making it as such...

I strongly suggest you get a copy of CloneCD. I think that this is the best program for making DAO (disc-at-once) copies of any CD.
